November 21, 2025 - The Eagle Has Landed
And he is ready to soar!
The Eagle has landed. This post is dedicated solely to my greatest accomplishment in life, Mason. I am so proud. I am bursting at the seams with delight. I am so thankful that it was in God’s plan for me to be a part of this journey, witness it, and celebrate it. My heart if full.

Last night, our son, Mason Kranking, concluded a remarkable 10-year Scouting journey by successfully passing his Board of Review, earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. His official Court of Honor is coming soon. The Court of Honor is the official ceremony which he will be recognized and celebrated publicly.
Mason’s Scouting path began in 2016 as a Cub Scout, where he progressed through all ranks to earn the Arrow of Light. He transitioned to a Boy Scout in February 2021, advancing steadily through Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life, culminating in this celebrated achievement.
Over the years, he has amassed an impressive record:
80 Merit Badges
115 Camping Nights
114 Community Service Hours
Over 174 Hiking Miles
He also received notable awards:
· 50 Miler Award, National Outdoor Achievement Award for Camping
· National Outdoor Award for Conservation
· National Outdoor Award for Hiking
· The World Conservation Award
· Snorkeling Award.
His leadership shone through in roles such as Quartermaster, Instructor, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (twice), Senior Patrol Leader, and Order of Arrow Unit Representative (twice).
He also experienced High Adventure Camps which included trips to Philmont Scout Ranch in and Northern Tier.
For his Eagle Scout Project, Mason constructed a 9-hole Frisbee Disc Golf Course at Ponte Vedra High School, showcasing his commitment to community impact. This involved managing a month long project that included managing 9 adults and 10 scouts who assisted.
Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is a rare honor, attained by only about 6% of Scouts. It demands years of dedication, determination, and a steadfast commitment to leadership, character, and service. Eagle Scouts embody values like trustworthiness, loyalty, kindness, and bravery, all of which Mason has demonstrated uniquely.
As parents, witnessing Mason’s growth through this journey has been one of our life’s greatest joys. His hard work, leadership, and resilience, even amid challenges, have been inspiring. Words like “proud” fall short. We are beyond proud, deeply grateful, and truly inspired by the remarkable young man he has become. We can’t wait to see our Eagle soar, and soar he will!

Congrats to Mason - what an accomplishment!
Congratulations to Mason! And also to his parents!! I am so proud of you Mason!!!
